Chris was raised in Watrous, Saskatchewan where he attended Philadelphia Mennonite Brethren Church. It was there that he was first exposed to World Vision by leading the 30 Hour Famine, after seeing Tom Cochrane on TV inviting youth to partake in this exciting national fundraising event. This also started his journey as a World Vision Child Sponsor in his teens.

Prior to joining World Vision Canada in January 2008, Chris held various positions in sales and marketing management. As a volunteer leader in worship and outreach ministries, his passion is to see the church reach out to those in need in their communities, Canada and the world, and to advocate for justice on behalf of “the voiceless.”  In his role as a Church Advisor, Chris looks forward to being part of resourcing and connecting the Canadian church to those in need around the globe.

Chris has a B.A. in Business Administration from Red River College in Winnipeg. He has been married to Karen for more than 16 years and together with their four children they worship at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church in Winnipeg. Chris enjoys being a hockey and dance dad as well as serving at his church, and has recently had opportunity to experience the work of World Vision firsthand in Zambia and Brazil.
